Joel Cohen

Joel Cohen, 85, of Philadelphia, PA passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 31, 2024.  

Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late William and the late Tillie (nee Clavner). Joel is the beloved husband of Gloria R. Cohen (nee McLean), his sweetheart of 61 years. In addition to his loving wife, Joel is survived by his devoted son Brian and daughter-in-law Elisa. He was the proud Pop Pop to Taylor, Jordan, Sydney and Brett whom he loved dearly and with all his heart, they were his world.  

Joel worked in retail sales his entire life. He spent many years as a shoe buyer for I. Goldberg in Center City, Philadelphia until they closed their doors. He then opened and retired from the Langhorne, PA Target. Joel’s days of retirement consisted of watching his grandchildren after school, sitting by the water at Core Creek Park with a good cigar and setting up his model trains for his grandchildren to enjoy. He loved listening to music on his radio and watching old movies. Joel was a friendly man who enjoyed a good conversation with neighbors and friends while sitting outdoors.  

Relatives and friends are invited to funeral services on Thursday, November 7, 2024, 11:00AM, at Joseph Levine & Sons, 4737 Street Rd., Trevose, PA. Visitation will begin at 10:15 AM, prior to services. Interment will follow at Montefiore Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joel’s memory may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation (www.parkinson.org).
