Jonas Caplin

Jonas Caplin passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Saturday, Sept .22, 2018.
Jonas was born in Trenton on Sept. 23, 1930, to business owners Benjamin and Ida Caplin. He attended Trenton High School and graduated from Pennington Prep.
He is survived by daughters, Beth Caplin Hanks and Roselyn Lovett, both of Yardley; grandchildren, Felicity Hanks of Yardley, Victoria Casale of Philadelphia, Andrew Hanks of Washington, DC, Beatrice Lovett of Malibu, CA, and one-year-old great-grandson, Henry Maziarz of Yardley; first cousin, Janice Abromovitz Pincus; six nieces and nephews; and friend, Connie Berkowitz. He was predeceased by his wife of over 40 years, the former Eleanor Bodine of Morrisville.
Joe was in the Naval Reserves during the Korean War. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias, Congregation Shir Ami, United Steelworkers of America, Jewish War Veterans and the Masonic National Grand Lodge in Center City Philadelphia.
The family will have a private graveside service at Greenwood Avenue Cemetery in Trenton. Shiva will be celebrated at his home, starting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018.
