Keith J. Alexander, Ph.D.
May 2, 1961 - February 28, 2024
Keith J. Alexander, 62, residing in Manahawkin, NJ and Boynton Beach, Florida passed away on February 28, 2024 after a courageous two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Lafayette Hill on May 2, 1961. Keith's educational journey included attending Germantown Academy for high school and furthering his studies at the University of Pennsylvania and Temple University, where he received his Ph.D. in 1989.
Since 1995, Dr. Alexander owned a successful mental-health Psychology practice in Hamilton, NJ (InterChange Behavioral Health). His expertise and compassion provided solace and healing to many. Keith's impact on the field of mental health was profound, as he worked tirelessly to advocate for the well-being of his many patients.
Outside of his professional life, Keith had a passion for Sports... sports... sports. He began golf at the age of 8 and found joy and friendships on the golf course, a passion he delighted in sharing with his family and friends. He recently made it his mission to get all of his children enthusiastic about sports; playing on the courses at his home in Boynton Beach, Florida, or taking them to numerous 76ers and Phillies games. His passion was more than an activity, it was a testament to his loyalty, resilience and the communal spirit of sportsmanship. Watching games, celebrating victories and even enduring losses became treasured memories of connection with his family and friends. He even made the news broadcast twice while at venues watching the Eagles and Phillies games.
Keith loved to travel as well. He and his wife explored Italy on their honeymoon in 2011, and later went on an adventure to New Zealand and Australia. After his diagnosis, he managed to continue travel, keeping it more "local" with trips to Maine, Rhode Island, and even an in-between chemotherapy trip to Jamaica. He was a warrior and wouldn't let cancer spoil his fun!
Academia, Sports, and Travel were nothing compared to the love of his family. He found the greatest joy and pride in being a husband and a father. His commitment to his family was evident in every facet of his life, from the endless support at his children’s events, the quiet evenings watching TV or the expertly administered advice about everything from education to finances.
Keith is survived by his mother, Lois Alexander; his wife, Lori Davne; his children, Melissa Alexander, Emily Alexander (Benjamin Behrend), Benjamin Davne (Janae), Scott Davne, and Aliya Davne. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold I. Alexander. He also has several nieces and two grand-nephews who he adored.
