Lazarus M. Gordon, 90, of Freedom Village, West Brandywine, PA, died Thursday, November 17 at home surrounded by family. Larry is survived by his children, Susan Gordon (Ted Schachter) of Los Angeles, CA; Judy Gordon Lahoff (David), of Glenmoore, PA; Lesley Gordon-Guidera (Michael); of West Chester, PA; Daniel Gordon (Linda Cohen Gordon) of Haverford, PA. His ten grandchildren, Mia and Lillie Schachter, Dana (Scott Skender), Rachel (Tim Gibbins ) and Ben Lahoff, Julia, Celia and Olivia Guidera, Leila and Sophie Gordon, and his great-grandson, Arthur Skender. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Bertha Jaffe, brother-in-law, Larry Marin (Teddi), and many nieces and nephews.
Larry was born and raised with his older brother, Ike, in the Bronx, NY, son of Russian immigrant parents, Celia Ariewitz and Arthur David Gordon. He served in World War II in the U.S. Army Rainbow Division and was present for the liberation of Dachau.
Larry was married to the love of his life, Lillian (née Marin), until her death in 1991, and lived in Morristown, NJ, for 45 years. He had a long career in pharmaceutical marketing and advertising. He was a lover of nature and animals, an avid birder, photographer, hiker and lifelong reader. He was a devoted and adoring father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Service will be held at 10 am, Sunday, November 20 at Joseph Levine & Sons in Broomall. Family will receive guests at 9:15 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Nature Conservancy or the World Wildlife Fund.
