Leatrice Weiss-Miller

Leatrice Weiss Miller passed peacefully on January 16, 2025. She was 88.A long time Bucks County, Pennsylvania resident, Leatrice was raised by her parents Alex and Evelyn with her sister Sally in Brooklyn, NY.

She graduated from Goddard College in Vermont and later earned a master’s degree in Women’s Studies from Vermont College. She attended many art classes and was an avid reader and writer; her interests were protean.Leatrice served as Democratic committee woman in Buck County’s eighth congressional district, and ran numerous local campaigns. She was an early advocate for feminism, and a long time volunteer at Planned Parenthood and Penndel Mental Health Center. She also engaged in the civil rights movement, including participating in several landmark civil rights marches in Washington, DC.But her family always came first.

Her three children — James, Elizabeth (who passed in 2010), Margaret (and her husband Andrew) never wanted for attention, support, or, most importantly, unconditional love. Later, her five grandchildren, Oliver, Zachary, Sophie, Ellen, and Chloe, experienced the same gifts. Most recently, Leatrice joyously received news that she had become Great Grandmother to Oliver and his wife Kiah’s son, Hughes.

Funeral services were private.

Contributions in Leatrice’s name can be made to Greenwood House Senior Healthcare in Ewing, NJ (greenwoodhouse.org) or Congregation Kol Emet, in Yardley, PA (kolemet.org).
