Leon Peezick
June 8, 1918 - June 20, 2017
Leon "Pete" Peezick, 99, of Havertown, PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. A Philadelphia native, he was a member of the "Greatest Generation", serving in the Pacific during WWII. After the war he worked for 35 years as a salesman at West Philadelphia Electric Supply Company. While growing up, Pete was an accomplished multi-sport athlete and passed on his love of sports to his four sons. While continuing to be an avid tennis player well into his 80s, he always made time to watch his sons' various high school and college athletic events.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents Sarah and Isadore Peezick, and by his sisters Mae Pizor and Bea Berschler. He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Doris (nee Ludwig) Peezick, and his four sons: Ira (Bridget) Peezick, Jeffrey (Carol) Peezick, Mark (Chris McLaughlin) Peezick, and Richard Peezick. Grandfather to nine grandchildren: Sophia (Scott) Rindos, Gordon Peezick, Ian Peezick, Sean Peezick, Max Peezick, Sam Peezick, Drew Peezick, Joe McLaughlin, and Michael McLaughlin.
Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Celebration on Sunday, July 9, 2017, 11:00 AM at Joseph Levine & Sons (West), 2811 West Chester Pike, Broomall, PA 19008.
