Leonore (nee Rosenblatt) Sherman, age 98, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. Leonore was born February 20, 1926, in Wilmington, Delaware to Benjamin and Anna Rosenblatt. She enjoyed a career as a teller at PSFS.
She was married for 73 happy years to Harry Sherman, until his death in 2018. They moved from Philadelphia to Broomall where they enjoyed swimming, socializing, and traveling for many years. They were the proud parents of three children, six grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. She was most recently a resident of Ann’s Choice Retirement Community.
Leonore was funny, kind, loving, and a wonderful friend. She and Harry loved to go to movies, dinners, shows, and trips with their friends. She loved to tell jokes and stories. She loved music, dancing, and poems. Leonore was proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and all their accomplishments. She loved being with her family.
Leonore is survived by her children Barry, and wife Fay, daughter Janice Knorr and husband Don, grandchildren Adam (Cindy), Renay (Tim), Lisa (Dan), Rachel (Aviad), and Rebecca (Mike). She was the devoted great-grandmother of Skylar, Jordyn, Jackson, Charley, Seth, Julia, Sarah, Lev, Jacob, Ella, and one on the way. In addition to her husband Harry, Leonore is preceded in death by her daughter Sandra Reed.
Service will be graveside at Haym Salomon Memorial Park, 200 Moores Road, Frazer, PA, on Friday, March 22nd at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Leonore’s memory may be made to Bright Focus Foundation: Macular Degeneration Research and National Glaucoma Research or a charity of the donor’s choice.
