Lois Grossman

d. July 20, 2023

Lois Letty Grossman (nee Sneidman), February 6, 1933-July 20, 2023, predeceased by her beloved husband Alvin (Al) Grossman (of 51 years). Proud mom of Lisa Grossman and Fran Weiner (Freddy).

Extra proud Grandmom of Dr. Samantha Weiner and Kara Weiner, M.Ed.

It was a long fight.  We called it death by 1,000 paper cuts.

Losing mom piece by piece to dementia.

A good life, lived now in pictures and happy memories.

“Loey” made it to 90, probably outliving her “expiration date.”

These last 6 years have been difficult for her and for those who knew her.

Mom was a character.  She and Al had a great life.  They enjoyed traveling and working together in their business.  Family was everything to her.  She loved us all unconditionally.

Everyone knew her.  Mom befriended waitstaff and retail workers and babies.  She loved to talk to people and vice versa.  Mom was sharp and clever and generous to those in her circle. She also had quite the “salty” vocabulary, which she had no problem sharing with others!

Mom loved music and enriched our lives by sharing that love with us.

She enjoyed dressing up to watch the Oscars … or just dressing up in general.

Mom was adept at typing and playing the piano - sometimes she would accompany herself on the typewriter to a song played on the radio!

She loved going to the theater and out to dinner.

Mom was an avid reader until dementia robbed her of that. But music - until the end of her life - never failed her and became one of the last things that brought her joy. It was like magic.

Mom was constantly rummaging in her pocketbook (which matched her outfits/which matched her shoes/which matched her jewelry) for something. Tissues. Lipstick. Gum. Keys.

Mom loved reading the obits, so we hope this one does her life justice.

She was one of a kind.

We will hear her laugh and remember her wit until the end of time.

We know Mom is somewhere, dressed up, enjoying a cocktail and dancing with Daddy, listening to Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra and Broadway show tunes.
