POPOWICH

LORRAINE (nee Sands), of Phila., passed away peacefully after a long illness on Nov. 24, 2015, she was 79. Lorraine is survived by her beloved husband of over 59 years, David Popowich; their children: Lisa (Jonathan Stein), Andrea (Robert Meislin) and Yale (Tina Skouras); grandchildren: Rachel, Ariel, Sophie, Benjamin, Harry and Julian; and sister Judith Newman. The best wife, mother, grandmother, sister anyone could ask for or imagine, Lorraine loved her family intensely and was beloved by everyone who knew her. She was beautiful, elegant, charming, smart and had a keen sense of humor. She kept everyone laughing until the very end. A founder and Board Member of the National Museum of American Jewish History and a Board Member of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Lorraine was a lover and patron of the arts, an avid reader and world traveler. She will be profoundly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to Services Friday, Nov. 27th, 10:30 A.M. at Congregation Adath Jeshurun, Ashbourne and Old York Rds., Elkins Park, PA. Int. Roosevelt Memorial Park. The family will return to the late residence. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Abramson Cancer Center of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
