RUBLIN
LOUIS, age 81. Beloved husband of Anne for 54 wonderful years; loving father of Joel (Lauren); Burt (Harriet); Hedda (Steven); Mindy (Zohar) Bogin; Arthur (Erika); devoted grandfather of Michael, David and Jennifer; Amy, David and Matthew; Rebecca and Jason; Keren and Shira; and Daniel. Also survived by his brother Robert. He was preceded in death by his brother Harold. He fought with valor for his country in World War II, and was awarded a Purple Heart for injuries sustained during the Battle of the Bulge. His career in social work was devoted to helping the less fortunate. In retirement, he was a whirlwind of non-stop activity - Chairman of the Philadelphia Workmen's Circle Chorus for 15 years; longtime leadership role in Congregation Melrose B'nai Israel Emanu-El; active participation in the JCC Klein Branch, Zionist Organi-zation of America, the Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge Association, Drizin-Weiss Post 215-Jewish War Veterans, and Parents of North American Israelis; trips to Israel to perform volunteer work; volunteer service to "Meals on Wheels" and "Cook for a Friend;" leadership of a Torah Study Group at JCC Klein Branch; and active in various genealogical organizations. He was lovingly devoted to his family; dedicated to Judaism, its traditions and values; and he lived his life to the fullest. He touched countless people with his selfless actions and was truly a "gutte neshumah." He will be deeply missed by his family and his many friends. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 26 at 10:45 a.m. at Congregation Melrose B'nai Israel Emanu-El, 133 West Cheltenham Avenue (2nd and Cheltenham Avenues), Cheltenham.
