Marilyn (Halpern) Musnitsky, 89, November 16, 2024 of Bala Cynwyd, PA passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold Musnitsky, with whom she shared many happy years. In later years, she found a loving and devoted partner in Edmund Dunn, with whom she shared a deep bond and lived as though they were husband and wife for 19 years.
She is survived by her two sons, Bruce Bassock and Jeffrey Bassock, his wife Pammie Bassock, and her beloved grandchildren, Stephanie, Brett, and Danielle. Marilyn also leaves behind her sister, Joan Lieberman and her husband Jerry Lieberman, along with her niece, Holly Levin, her husband Eric Levin, and their children, Hannah, Leah, and Jason. She also leaves behind her late husband Harold's grandchildren, Jonah and Rafe Kaplan, whom she always loved and kept in touch with. Additionally, she also leaves behind many cousins and childhood friends, with whom she always stayed connected.
Marilyn deeply loved Edmund’s four children, twelve grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, who were a cherished part of her extended family.
A breast cancer survivor, Marilyn spent many years visiting and supporting other breast cancer patients in hospitals and communities throughout Philadelphia and it's suburbs, helping them cope with their health challenges. She was a positive and compassionate presence, lifting their spirits and improving their well-being. Her dedication to this cause was recognized when she received an award for her work with "The Race for the Cure," along with an interview on television.
Marilyn was also an accomplished abstract painter, and her works are exhibited in numerous locations throughout the Philadelphia area, including private homes and professional offices.
She enjoyed traveling the world with Edmund during their 19 years together, creating countless cherished memories.
An animal lover, Marilyn had a special affection for cats, which she treated as devoted members of her family (Pretty Boy and Muffy).
Relatives and friends are invited to services on Sunday, November 24, at 12:00 Noon at Joseph Levine & Sons 4737 Street Road, Trevose, PA. Entombment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will return to the Kessler residence and kindly requests that contributions in Marilyn’s memory be made to Susan G. Komen (www.komen.org) or the National Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org).
