Martin Berger
Martin Berger, 77, a long time resident of Ardmore, PA, died Sunday, June 18, 2006 at Bryn Mawr Hospital.
Mr. Berger was a nationally known labor union officer for UNITE (the former ILGWU). He was a member of the state committee of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party. He was former Chair of the Haverford Township Democratic Party. He was recently appointed to the Executive Council of the AFL-CIO and was President of the Pennsylvania Alliance for Retired Americans.
He was also appointed by the Governor to the Pennsylvania Council on Ageing.
Surviving are his wife, Helen Bronstein (Smith); his children, Warren Berger, Jan Bronstein Epstein, Nancy Bronstein Kurtzman and Adam Bronstein; brother, Seymour Berger; and grandchildren, Talia, Jennifer, Erica, Lauren and Shana.
Relatives and friends are invited to memorial services on Friday, June 23, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at Suburban Jewish Community Center-B'nai Aaron, 560 Mill Road, Havertown, PA. A reception will follow services at the same synagogue.
The family respectfully requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions in Martin's memory be made to Jewish Family and Children's Service, 133 Coulter Avenue, Ardmore, PA 19003.
