Martin Greitzer

Martin Greitzer, 94, of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on June 12th, leaving behind a legacy of devotion to family, community, and justice.

A respected lawyer for over six decades, Marty served as President of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association and the Philadelphia Bar Foundation.

Marty was a dedicated leader in the Jewish community. He served as Chairman of the Philadelphia chapter of AIPAC for many years and supported efforts to bring Ethiopian Jews to Israel. His commitment to philanthropy and public service extended throughout his life.

In memory of his beloved wife, Deenie Greitzer, Marty established the Deenie Greitzer and Daniel G. Haller Associate Professorship at the Abramson Cancer Center of the University of Pennsylvania.

Born in Philadelphia, Marty attended Temple University, served in the United States Army, and graduated from Temple University School of Law. He was known for his intellect, integrity, generosity, and unwavering dedication to helping others.

Marty’s greatest pride was his family, who will always remember his wisdom, compassion, and devotion. These qualities have also cemented Marty’s legacy through his lasting impact on the legal profession, the Jewish community, and all who knew him.

He was the beloved husband of the late Deenie (nee Margolis); and then partner of the late Ellie Wohl, loving father of Joseph Greitzer (Robin) and David Greitzer, cherished grandfather of Adam, Hallie and Julia Greitzer (Andy).

Relatives and friends are invited to graveside services, Monday, June 15, 2026, 1:00pm, at Haym Salomon Memorial Park, Frazer, PA.

Shiva to follow at The Fairmont, 41 Conshohocken State Road, Bala Cynwyd, Pa 19004.
