HURWITZ
MILDRED, 1922 - 2012, artist/ teacher, 90, passed away peacefully of natural causes in her home in Montclair, NJ. Mildred was born in Philadel-phia where she received a BA from The University of the Arts and a Masters in Art Education from Rowan University, during a time when it was unusual for a woman to attain such advanced education. Mildred had numerous exhibitions of her abstract paintings. In addition, she was a beloved teacher having dedicated more than 20 years to the art education of children. She was married to the late Bernard Hurwitz and is survived by their 3 children: Elliott, Lee and Cathy. She is also survived by 5 grand-children and 2 great grand-children. The funeral will be held at The Mt. Sharon Cemetery Chapel on Wed., Jan. 2nd, 2013 at 1:00pm. The chapel and cemetery are located at E. Springfield Road and W.
