MITCHELL FINKELSTEIN

Mitchell Finkelstein - dedicated, father, husband, grandfather, brother, and friend of many,  passed away December 9th, 2023 at the age of 70 in Ambler, Pennsylvania. He was known for his ability to strike up a conversation with virtually anyone and for his amazing sense of humor which afforded him many, many endearing and enduring friendships.

Mitch was born to Jacob and Irene Finkelstein in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in March of 1953. He grew up on Forrest Avenue in the same house where his father practiced veterinary medicine and would often accompany his father on trips to nearby farms as an unofficial aid to his father taking care of the animals that required treatment.

Following graduation from Norristown High School in 1971, Mitch attended Penn State University in State College, PA where he met his future wife Francie Siegel. After three years, Mitch followed Francie to Arizona State University where he graduated in 1976. Later that year, Mitch began working as a real-estate agent at the office of Dan Hoey Realty in Fairview Village, PA.  He eventually took over the small office and became known throughout the area for his knowledge of the local market. Mitch and Francie wed in 1981 and welcomed two children: Joshua in 1984 and Arley in 1986. In 1989 he and Francie embarked on a new challenge as a husband/wife team of homebuilders where they developed, and built two small residential subdivisions. They spent the next 30 years living in East Norriton raising their children among family and lifelong friends.

Through the years, Mitch enjoyed golf, fishing, hiking, skiing, white water rafting, traveling to the shore with his family, watching the Phillies and Eagles, and spending time with his incredible network of friends. Nearly every morning, for decades, he would enjoy coffee or breakfast with a rotating group at Fairview Lunch or The Jem Restaurant. His dearest friends and family will always remember Mitch as a dedicated family man, business owner and as a constant source of jokes and laughter with an innate ability to engage deeply with every conversation.

Mitch is survived by his wife Francie, his son Joshua & daughter in law Zhenzi, his daughter Arley, and his four grandchildren Oliver, Ivy, Evan, and Zoey.

A memorial service will be held at Joseph Levine & Sons Funeral Home at 1002 W Skippack Pike, in Blue Bell PA on Wednesday, December 13th promptly at 3:15 pm. Family & Friends are encouraged to gather beginning at 2:45 pm.
