Murray Allen Felzer, of Boynton Beach, Florida, born June 21, 1945 passed away peacefully on May 7th, 2026 surrounded by the love of his family.
Murray was the beloved husband of Arlene (Friedman) Felzer, his great love and partner of 49 years, until her passing in 2018. Their love story became family legend: introduced on a blind date through their mothers, they were engaged within three months and built a beautiful life together filled with love, laughter, loyalty, and unwavering partnership. They were an extraordinary couple whose marriage became a model for their family and friends.
Together, Murray and Arlene raised their two daughters, Michelle (Mike) Tannenbaum and Cherie Felzer, in Havertown, Pennsylvania. Murray was a deeply supportive father who helped instill confidence, independence, and strength in both of his daughters. He was endlessly proud of them and always made sure they knew it.
Nothing brought Murray greater joy than being “Pop Pop” to his grandchildren, Ella and Jacob. Whether through frequent phone calls, texts, cheering them on at their games, or simply staying closely connected to their lives, he was their biggest fan and loved them beyond measure.
Murray served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Professionally, he worked as an accountant, bringing intelligence, discipline, and dedication to his career throughout his life.
Outside of work, Mur fully embraced the things he loved most: golf, card games, dinners and parties with close friends and extended family, golf trips, and a good vodka on the rocks. As a longtime member of White Manor Country Club, he cherished the many friendships and memories made there over the years. His last years were spent in Boynton Beach, Florida where he found love, happiness and enjoyed close proximity to family.
To know Murray was to know someone completely authentic. He said what he thought, did things his own way, and rarely filtered himself — a quality that made him uniquely funny, memorable, and impossible not to love. Beneath his strong will and sharp wit was a deeply sensitive, generous man whose presence filled every room and whose absence will be profoundly felt.
Murray will be dearly missed by his children, Michelle and Mike Tannenbaum and Cherie Felzer; his cherished grandchildren, Ella and Jacob; his loving sister, Cindy (Bob) Leitzell, extended family, and many dear friends. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Arlene Felzer, and by his parents, Vivian and Jack Felzer.
Those who loved Murray will forever hear his voice, remember his honesty, laugh at his unfiltered commentary, and miss sharing one more vodka on the rocks with him. Murray will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him, and reunited at last with the love of his life, Arlene.
Memorial service will be held on Monday, May 18th, 2026 at 12:30 PM at Joseph Levine and Sons, 2811 West Chester Pike, Broomall, PA 19008, with Shiva to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Murray’s memory may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, www.kidney.org.
