LEONARD

RAYMOND J., JR., age 75, died on the 28th of October 2004, at Abington Hospital, after a heroic battle of 102 days from complications of a brain injury caused by a fall in his home in mid July. Mr. Leonard had suffered from Inclusion Body Myositis for the past four years. Mr. Leonard graduated from St. Joseph's Prep in 1947 and from St. Joseph's University in 1951 where he had majored in political science. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953. He worked for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company before entering government service. He worked for the Defense Industrial Supply Center as a supply systems analyst and handled Foreign Military Sales. He was an instructor as well and was a popular figure there due to his dry wit, keen intelligence, love of languages and eagerness to help others. He was a member of the American Philatelic Society, The Philadelphia Museum of Art and a supporter of all PBS stations in the area. He collected dictionaries and made the study of words a continual habit. Mr. Leonard is survived by his wife Cynthia (nee Magid), by his brother Robert Bunce, sisters in law Elizabeth Bunce and Frances Bunce and 11 nieces and nephews. He has left them, as well as a huge number of friends, a wealth of memories. Services will be at Whitemarsh Chapel with Interment at the Whitemarsh Memorial Park in Prospectville, PA at Limekiln Pike (Rte 152) and Horsham Rd., (Rte. 463) on 1 November 2004 at 1:30 P.M.
