Richard E. Carp

Richard E. Carp; “Pop” to his family and “Rue” to his friends, age 94, passed away peacefully with his loved ones on June 28th, 2024. A true Philadelphian, he grew up in Wynnefield, graduated from Overbrook High School at age 16 and then Temple University school of business. Richard worked in his family’s garment business before working as a stock broker and then starting his own private financial planning firm. A reservist in the Coastguard during the Korean war, Richard made lifelong friends. He enjoyed all Philadelphia sports. Richard is survived by his wife, Minda, daughter, Beth (Kenny) Soffer, son, Brian (Robyn) and 4 grandchildren, Sari (David), Jeffrey, Jordin and Greg. In lieu of flowers, Richard’s family asks that you honor his memory by giving the gift of peace to each other. Services and interment will be private.
