June 7, 2018, of Bala Cynwyd, PA. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on his 65th Wedding Anniversary. Dick's life flickered with an in-credible intellect, wit, kindness and childlike sense of wonder. He loved literature, music, politics, sports and desserts. His irreplaceable presence will be missed immensely by his family and dear friends.
Cherished husband of Alyne (nee Older); father of Michael Freed, Gary (Penny) Freed and Susan Freed Smith; grandfather of Rachel Freed, Josh Newstadt, Jordy (Theresa Vibberts) Freed, Jack Clauser, Jennifer Freed and Alexandra (Brian Noecker) Newstadt; great-grandfather of Nicholas Newstadt; brother of the late Stephen Freed; brother-in-law of Tema Freed and Patricia (Barry Hornberger) Vitkow. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
