ROBERT 'BOB', of Huntingdon Valley PA, died on Sunday Oct. 26, 2003, was a dedicated family man and true friend. He was born in Atlantic City N.J. and graduated from West Phila. High School. He worked in the motion picture industry managing and owning numerous theaters in the Greater Phila. area. Robert was an avid golfer, true sportsman, and an amateur photographer. His generous personality, charm and wit earned him many friends. He was meticulous in his obligations and an elegant dresser. He was a member of the Philmont Country Club, Cong. Rodeph Shalom; and a board member of The Red Cross and The Abington Library. He was a devoted husband, father and friend and will be sorely missed. He was predeceased by his first wife Ruth (nee Rovner) Abel who died in 1987. Survivors include his loving wife Nancy (nee Weil) Abel; his children Dr. Robert (Mike) Abel Jr. and Nancy (Hack) Hoffenberg, stepfather of Billy, Sally, Polly, and Jimmy (Sandy) Apfelbaum, and Stanley Allen; brother of Valla Abel Amsterdam, his sister-in-law Gale Abel; and 4 grandchildren Ari, Lauren, Adam and Katie. Memorial Service will be held Wednesday Oct. 29th, 11:30 A.M. at the Rodeph Shalom Suburban Cong., 8201 High School Road, Elkins Park PA 19027. The family will be returning to his late residence; and respectfully request that contributions in his memory be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
