Robert "Bob" Epstein

Robert "Bob" Epstein, on April 4, 2025, was born May 22, 1944, in the Bronx, New York, to Dena (Lantz) and William Epstein. He grew up with his two older brothers, Ronny and Allen, spending his days in his parents' pharmacy. Bob was a proud alumnus of Bronx Science and City College of New York. As a young adult in the 1960s, he studied in Israel and taught English, and was present during the 1967 Six-Day War. After earning his Masters in Communications from UPenn, Bob spent his career as a statistician and researcher for the School District of Philadelphia. His loves were Judaism, learning, Yiddish, and Israeli culture, as well as his family, cooking and coffee (maybe not in that order). A long-time member of Germantown Jewish Center and more recently Temple Beth Zion-Beth Israel, Bob enjoyed preparing Jewish holiday meals, drawing inspiration from NYTimes recipes. He lived joyfully, making "chuchmas" and friends in every era of his life.

Bob is survived by his children William Epstein (Glenna Greer) and Diana Epstein; also survived by their mother, Alexa Kvande; his brother Jerome “Ronny” Lance (the late Johanna); beloved niece Lauran Epstein Ballinger, and many other dear nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Allen Epstein.
