Robert Malkin Temko

Robert Malkin Temko, age 74, passed away on January 22, 2020 from pancreatic cancer. He was born on November 2, 1945 in New York, NY to Richard Temko and Sheila (Gold) Temko. Robert was a loving husband to Andrea Korman Shapiro Temko, a loving brother to Karen Backilman (Frank), a loving husband to Victoria Susan Benghiat Temko, of blessed memory, a loving father to Sasha Aber, Julia Shores (Rusty), and Ezra Temko (Drew), a loving stepfather to William (Akhila), Annah, and Mirra, and a devoted grandfather to Dagan, Meadow, Sequoia, Lucian, Lev, Rashi, Bela, Reishi, Yosi, and Elan. Robert was also survived by former wife Maggie Pascello Nickols.

Robert earned his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Tufts University and a law degree from the University of Maryland. He was the first insurance agent with Horace Mann Insurance in Delaware, where he worked for almost 30 years. Robert was a dedicated visual artist (TemkoArt.com) and enjoyed following the stock market, playing golf, and hiking and the outdoors. Robert formed, sustained, and nourished connections to family and friends throughout his life.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 24 at 11am at the Joseph Levine & Sons funeral home in Broomall, PA, followed by a burial in Wilmington, Delaware. Immediately following the burial, shiva will be observed at their home residence. Shiva will be held at their home on Saturday and Sunday from 5:30pm to 8pm, and at Sasha's home on Saturday and Sunday from 4pm to 7pm. Due to allergies, please refrain from using fragrant perfume or cologne. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sierra Club and Planned Parenthood.
