Rochelle H. Schneider

Rochelle Hope Schneider (née Silverman), aged 86, passed away on March 12th, 2024. She was born on July 12, 1937, in Brooklyn, New York to Irving and Ethel Silverman. Rochelle was a distinguished alumna of Bayside High School in Queens and then attended college at Cornell University. Rochelle flourished at Cornell where she sang in an a cappella group and worked at the university's radio station. In addition, she cherished being a sister of Phi Sigma Sigma. In 1959, she achieved a notable milestone as one of the few women to graduate from Cornell's renowned School of Industrial and Labor Relations.

Transitioning into her twenties, Rochelle married Irving Rosen and started a family. She also began a career, spanning 35 years, in office operations at the Jewish Community Center on the Palisades in Tenafly, New Jersey. Her commitment and contributions were exemplary, leaving a lasting impact on the organization and its community. After the end of her first marriage, Rochelle shared her life with her late husband, Earl Schneider, for forty years. 

Rochelle is survived by her three children: Julie Rosen, Beth Cope (Kevin Cope), and Robert Rosen (Robert Darling); her grandchildren, Eliana and Delaney Cope; and her brother, Mark “Mickey” Silverman (Vicki Silverman). 

Relatives and friends are invited to a graveside service on Friday, March 15, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Mount Sharon Cemetery, 502 E Springfield Rd, Springfield, PA 19064. The family welcomes visitors at the residence of Beth and Kevin Cope on Sunday, March 17, 2024, from 12:00-5:00 pm.
