Sidney Malcom Gamburg, long time Hatboro business owner, died August 21, 2024, in his home in Lafayette Hill, PA.
Sidney was born in 1936 in Philadelphia to Jeanne and Louis Gamburg and later moved to Hatboro.
Sidney was a graduate of Muhlenberg College in 1958. Following his time at Muhlenberg, Sidney was a Pharmacist in the Army 1960 – 1962.
Sidney joined the family business, Gamburg Furniture, a four-generation family business in Hatboro in 1962. Sidney became a mainstay in the Hatboro community and served as a board member of Hatboro Federal Savings for 38 years. In 1997, Sidney was inducted to the Hatboro High Hall of Fame. Sidney was recognized as Hatboro’s Honored Citizen for Service to Business in 2003 as well as “Retailer of the Year” by the Home Furnishing Association.
Sidney was an avid golfer. He spent free time at Meadowlands Country Club where he met his wife and love of his life, Joyce (Fogel), and the two married in 1963.
In addition, Sidney is survived by his three sons, Michael, Jeffrey (Michele), and Donald (Amy). Sidney took much joy in his five grandchildren, Madeline, Louis, Anna, Katelyn, and Jayne.
