SCARBOROUGH
SONIA F. 'SUNNY', age 67, of Wilmington, DE, died peacefully at her home on Monday, July 19, 2004, after a short illness. Sunny was born in Philadelphia, PA, and was a graduate of Girls High School and the College of Women at the University of Pennsylvania. She was a senior Girl Scout leader, a tutor and a Red Cross volunteer. During her life she traveled extensively with her husband, living in Germany, Spain, Malaysia and Indonesia for over fifteen years. Sunny had a lifelong interest in animals and animal conservation and protection. She also enjoyed travel and music and was an enthusiastic supporter of the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Delaware Symphony Orchestra and the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia. Sunny followed her heart bravely and passionately and her joyous free spirit, intelligence and zest for living brightened the lives of those around her. She was an intensely loyal friend and, to her husband, she was always wife, counselor, navigator and best of women. She was deeply loved and is sorely missed. Sunny was predeceased by her parents Dr. Ellis Finkelman and Betty Poland Finkelman and by 2 uncles and an aunt. She is survived by her husband Lawrence M. 'Ted' Scarborough, a son, Edmund C. Scarborough, and 2 children from a previous marriage. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service for Sunny (time and date to be announced). In lieu of flowers, it is requested that contributions be made in Sunny's memory to the World Wildlife Fund, 1250 Twenty-Fourth St., Washington, DC 20037.
