Steven Zitin passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 2 2022. Born in 1941 to Leah and Arnold Zitin, he grew up in Merion, PA. He was a proud Veteran who served in the United States Navy on the USS Laffey from 1965-1967. He was also an alum of Penn State University and president of his fraternity, Sigma Alpha Mu. He eventually went on to develop a company called Bioclimatic Air Systems, which supplied air filtration systems to large companies and schools.
Steven was passionate about his Jewish identity and was a member of Adath Israel Synagogue in Merion, PA where his family donated a Torah to the congregation. Steven would often attend services and participate in minyan and found much comfort in his faith.
Steven was a happy and loving man. He loved golf, exercising, and had a major sweet tooth. He found immense joy in spending time with family and being at the beach in Ventor, NJ.
Steven is survived by his devoted partner of 12 years, Gail Plotnick; his daughter Michele Bottino (Michael Bottino); his grandson Nicolas Bottino; his granddaughter Mia Bottino; his brother, Robert Zitin; Gail's children Amy Cohen (Hal Cohen), Jodi Gillman (Jeffrey Gillman); Gail's grandchildren Sadie Cohen, Gabriel Cohen, Blake Gillman, Nathan Gillman. Steven was predeceased by his wife Lynne Zitin (nee Miller) and his son Brandon Zitin.
Our family will always be grateful for the loving, skilled, and compassionate care provided by Steven's caregivers Millennium Memory Center in Monroe, NJ and Ascend Hospice.
Services will be graveside and for immediate family members only on Wednesday July 6th. Shiva will be observed at the home of Jeffrey and Jodi Gillman at 7pm on Wednesday July 6th in Wynnewood, PA and will continue at the home of Jeff and Fay Zelenko on Thursday July 7th in Ventnor, NJ.
