STEVEN co-founder of PRG Real Estate, passed away on Sunday April 24, 2016 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Steve was a native Philadelphian having attended Friends Select School and later, the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. From there, Steve attended law school at the University of Miami. Post a brief career practicing law, Steve embarked on his true passion, building a successful and prosperous multifamily real estate firm whose footprint now extends throughout the eastern half of the United States. Steve was a philanthropic man having created several funds for tuition benefits and supported many organizations related to his alma maters, cancer and academic research, as well as causes important to the Jewish community.
He was also a dedicated family man having been a loyal and loving husband to his wife Laurie Loevner, Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and a devoted father to his sons Benjamin and
Alex. Ben is graduating high school this June whence he will be attending the University of Pennsylvania and Alex is a rising high school sophomore. He is also survived by his mother Doris Berger and his siblings Barbara and Theodore Aronson, Max and Elyse Berger, Robert and Maryanne Berger, as well as 13 nieces and nephews. Steven's legacy will be a long lasting one, as he was loved and respected by his family, friends, colleagues and all those who he had the pleasure of coming into contact with. He will truly be missed.
Funeral Services will take place at Har Zion Temple, Penn Valley, Pennsylvania at 11:45 A.M. Thursday morning.
