GELBER
SYLVIA (nee Poliner), Nov. 9, 2015, 99, of Wynnewood, died peacefully after a brief illness at the end of a long life as daughter, sister, wife, mother, grand-and-great-grandmother, and loyal friend. She worked as a secretary in busy real estate, medical, and school offices, including Overbrook High School. A Philadelphia native, she met husband Fred in Wynnefield, survived the Depression, and supported his combat infantry service during World War II, showing graceful resilience. Raising a loving family, she welcomed all with kindness, love, determination, and inclusiveness. Her legacy of love includes son Richard (Cheryl) Gelber, daughter Susan (Jerry) Cannon, grand-children Jeremy (Pauline), Johanna, Bajir (Maki), and Lateef (Jen), and three great-grandchildren, as well as dear friends of all ages. "It will all work out," was her motto. She wanted to be remembered as a "kind person who listened," recognizing that "listening is important." Services will be held Wednesday 1:00 P.M. at
JOSEPH LEVINE AND SONS MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 4737 Street Road, Trevose. PA. Int. Roosevelt Memorial Park. The family will return to the residence of Richard and Cheryl Gelber. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The HomeCare and Hospice Foundation of Main Line Health.
