Toba Coren (nee Segal) passed away peacefully on July 21, 2023 at her home in Bala Cynwyd.

Toba was the devoted wife of the late Herman Coren. She is survived by her daughters Rebecca Davidson (Steven Kahn), Ruth Sklut (Jim Nichols), Lauren Sara, Jami Herrschaft (Eric); her stepchildren Steven Coren (Tina), Phyllis Bergmaier (Timothy); her brother David Segal (Arlene); her eight grandchildren Laura, Stephanie (Josh), Brian (Kellie), Jacob (Annie), Samuel, Henry, Benjamin, William; her six step grandchildren Morgan, Zachary, Timmy, Denny, Jessica, and Allie; and her five great grandchildren Tanner, Dylan, Kyle, Cameron and Jack. She was predeceased by her daughter Beth Spitalny (Peter).

Toba was a gifted ceramic artist and teacher. Her enduring creative spirit had the power to move and inspire. While deeply rooted in the Philadelphia community, she remained a passionate advocate for social issues worldwide. 

Graveside services will be held on Sunday July 23, 2023 at 11 AM at Haym Salomon Memorial Park. Following the service, family and friends are invited to the home of Rebecca Davidson and Steven Kahn.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Philadelphia Museum of Art (philamuseum.org) or the Long Beach Island Foundation (lbifoundation.org).
