VIRGINIA "GINGER" (nee Stern) passed away peacefully at her home in Huntingdon Valley on November 29, 2014. She is survived by her beloved husband, David, her devoted sons, David Jr. and James (Linda) and her adoring grandchildren, Nathaniel, Ethan and Lilia. Ginger was born in Philadelphia and resided in the Philadelphia area for her entire life. She was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. She had many civic and charitable interests, including service as the Director of Resources for Women at the University of Pennsylvania, Republican Committeewoman Cheltenham Township, Board member of Planned Parenthood, Docent at the Philadelphia Zoo, member of the Allocations Committee of the United Way and the CraigDalsimer Division of Adolescent Medicine of Children's Hospital of Philadel-phia. She took great pleasure in traveling with her husband and children and spent many school
vacations in various Caribbean Islands. She also enjoyed numerous trips to the British Isles and Europe. She and her husband owned a vacation house in the Outer Banks of North Carolina where their Children and Grandchildren and other family members often visited. Ginger was an avid reader of fiction and nonfiction; she loved nature and spent many hours perfecting her gardens and bird watching. She enjoyed fishing and spent summer months in Belgrade Lakes, Maine since the age of ten. She also took great pleasure in saltwater fishing in Long Beach Island, New Jersey and in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Contributions may be made to the Cancer Center of Abington Hospital, 1200 Old York Road, Abington, PA 19001.
Friends are welcome to visit at the family residence on Thursday, December 4 between 2 and 4 in the afternoon and between 7 and 9 in the evening. A memorial service for family will be scheduled at a later date.
