Zalig, M. "Ziggy" Acker,
July 14, after a lengthy illness. Formerly of West Philadelphia, Wynnefield, Broomall and Haverford, PA.
Ziggy was a graduate of Temple University School of Pharmacy. Upon graduation, he obtained the highest grade in that year's pharmacy board examination. Over the years he was the owner/proprietor of pharmacies at 4th and Snyder Avenue, and 22nd and Snyder Avenue, both in Philadelphia. He also worked at the Pathmark Pharmacy in Broomall, PA and the Rite Aid in Ardmore, PA. Wherever he practiced, Ziggy was praised by his patients for his knowledge of pharmaceuticals, his counseling ability, and his overall friendliness. He was always quick with a joke, which also pleased his patients.
Ziggy is survived by two children, David and Jenny, sisters Reeni (Ben) and Vivian, and nephews Michael and Stuart.
Graveside Service: Friday, July 17, 2015 at 1:30 pm at Har Jehuda Cemetery, 8400 Lansdowne Avenue, Upper Darby, PA 19082. The family will return to the Snyder residence. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Bryn Mawr Hospital, 130 S Bryn Mawr Avenue, Bryn Mawr, PA 19010
